National Rebuilding Day is the annual signature event of Rebuilding Together nationwide. Locally, a thousand community members will volunteer their time and talents through sponsoring corporations, congregations and community groups to make repairs to 40 homes and non-profit facilities. Each sponsoring group, made up of 15-50 volunteers, identifies team leaders who are skilled in home repairs and then trained by Rebuilding Together-AFF in project management. Volunteer groups are matched to a project based on the size and skill of the group. National Rebuilding Day is reminiscent of the barn-raising tradition of America’s past. The result of months of planning, evaluating, training and coordination provides a lasting impression and life-changing experience for both our volunteers and the families and individuals we serve. Year Round Programs. Our commitment to delivering critical home repairs continues throughout the year. Corporate sponsors provide funding and often oftentimes the opportunity for their employees to spend the day making a real tangible difference in the live of an elderly, disabled or veteran homeowner. Smaller groups from faith communities, local businesses and civic groups will spend a day or a week on a variety or projects that enhance the homeowners ability to remain in the home in comfort, safety and independence.
